She is also an experienced early childhood teacher and good with children. Since her son was 4 years old, she has been teaching him cooking, how to peel & slice vegetables safely, use a pan to make an omelet, saute vegetables, use a blender or microwave safely. At age 6 now, he has already participated in 3 cooking competitions on his own. Monika believes cooking is an essential life skill and sets children up for a healthy lifestyle from a young age. Cooking food is an art and science, hence the name Food Art Science
“My boys both enjoy Monika’s cooking class. They have done very little in the kitchen and now learning all about food, basic skills in the kitchen and the rest. They love going to their sessions and came home with smiles telling us what they have learnt for the day. I highly recommend Monika’s Food Art Science class – she is great with kids as well. Great school holiday activity and we will do after school during the school term. Thank you Monika.” – Bev
“It’s not just for kids either! Monika runs an Indian Recipe Group for grownups at her place as well. Her interactive, hands-on presentation style is ideal for small groups. After only two sessions I’ve already learnt lots from her – and this comes from somebody who’s been cooking for nearly 60 years!” – Terry
“Excellent class, thoroughly enjoyed learning how to make Aloo Paratha. My family and I love eating it and now know how to make it properly! Thanks so much Monika, you are very skilled and are a great teacher, appreciate all your help.” – Vernie
